As you probably know by the overload of pictures and videos, I went to Italy last week. Now, you can drop me literally everywhere in the world, I will always found a way to get a little shopping done. I picked up a few beauty items from various Italian brands, Kiko being one of them. I wasn't really blown away by a lot of their products, but there was one item I immediately fell in love with. They released a new line of four beautiful Cocoa Shock Blush Duos, which come with two blush shades and look like chocolate bars (totally not inspired by Too Faced haha!). The shade Silky Rose & Mauve was screaming my name so I decided to pick it up.
Packaging: The little blush palette comes in a pink cardboard box that has chocolate stripes on it and reminds me of a praline box. The palette itself comes in different shades of chocolate, ranging from white to milk and dark chocolate. The Silky Rose & Mauve palette comes in a milk chocolate shade and looks like a chunky bar of chocolate. Even the pans look like little chunks of chocolate and have a subtle vanilla scent. I think it's obvious that this packaging and design is very reminiscent of the Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palettes, don't you think?? The palette also comes with a little mirror and doesn't contain any annoying brushes. On the back there's a little sticker with the shade name and some additional information.
There are four variaties available: ❤ Sweet Coral & Apricot ❤ Silky Rose & Mauve
❤ Adorable Pink & Peach
❤ Preppy Pink & Tan
I decided to go for the Silky Rose & Mauve because I adore mauve blushes and thought it would be perfect for Fall.
Silky Rose & Mauve comes with a lighter pink and darker pinky mauve. Both of them are matte, but they also have a sheen to them, which is quite normal since they're baked blushes.
As you can tell, they're both quite pigmented and have a really nice color pay-off. Even though the formula is baked, I don't think they're overly powdery, they actually feel quite soft, velvety and not too powdery at all.
These blushes apply and blend onto my cheeks so effortlessly! They don't look powdery or streaky and this formula is also very buildable. It's definitely a more subtle and natural blush, but you can definitely build up the intensity.
The lasting power is average, at least on my cheekbones. I would say this lasted about 6-7 hours on me before it started to fade away. But considering this is a baked formula, I think that's actually quite normal.
You can use both of these separately, or combine them to customize your shade. I prefer mixing both of them together, which gives me a beautiful and healthy looking light pinky mauve flush.
This palette is quite compact, as you can see it fits right into my hand. It is quite chunky, but I guess that's just part of the whole chocolate design and packaging.

I'm wearing a mix of both shades on my cheekbones! Doesn't it look dewy and just overall lovely??
I was actually quite surprised with the quality of these two blushes! The finish is beautiful, I adore the shades and they're also quite pigmented and blendeable. The lasting power is average, but considering these are baked blushes I think that's totally normal and fine.
The new Kiko Cocoa Blush duos are now available in stores and on the official Kiko website here for €10,90 (6 g). Considering you get two beautiful blushes housed in adorable chocolate bar looking packaging, I think it's totally worth it!
