Kat Von D Lolita Lip Duo

When I was in California in September, I went into every single Sephora I came across, desperately searching for the Kat Von D Everlasting liquid lipsticks in 'Lolita' and 'Bow N Arrow' but it was impossible to find any of them. These crazy hyped up liquid lipsticks were sold-out everywhere! The only way I was able to get my hands on Lolita was by buying a lip set from Sephora which had a mini Lolita in it, that was the only way. And I must admit, I understand all the hype around these liquid lipsticks and especially Lolita. It is such a stunning dusty rose shade that's all the rage these days. But then, after being home for a couple of weeks I saw that kat Von D was going to release a lip set that had Lolita & Lolita II in it, which I had to get my hands on so badly! So I ordered it on sephora.com and today I'm finally posting about this beautiful lip duo.

So for those of you that don't know the story behind this lip duo, here's the deal. When Kat Von D first released Lolita a couple of years ago it was immediately sold-out and everyone was talking about it and wanted it. So she decided to bring it back some time after, but it turned out the shade wasn't the same as the original Lolita, it had more pink in it and was a lot lighter than the the first one. So after that she released Lolita again, this time with the original dusty rose shade.

But of course, some people preferred the more pinkish version, which is exactly what Lolita II is. I think this story is quite interesting and it definitely made me curious to compare the two.

This set comes with 2 Everlasting liquid lipsticks, Lolita and Lolita II. They're both mini sizes and contain 3 ml of product. They look so freaking adorable and have more or less the same badass packaging and design as the full-size liquid lipsticks.

The original Lolita is a chestnut brownish dusty rose. It looks rather dark on the lips but it is such a stunning shade. This is a lip color that would suit so many different skin-tones, although this might look very different depending on the skin-tone.

Lolita II is a lot lighter than the original Lolita, it's a terracotta pink. Again, this is a beautiful shade as well, but I'm not sure it's as universal as Lolita.

These Everlasting liquid lipsticks are so pigmented, you only need one layer for them to look opaque. They're super soft and velvety and are comfortable to wear, as far as a liquid lipstick can be comfortable. They're not drying and they don't crack on my lips.

The lasting power of these is also really impressive, they stay on all day as long as you're a bit careful when you're having lunch or having a drink.

The Kat Von D Everlasting liquid lipsticks are some of my favorite liquid lipsticks, especially when it comes to the formula, but also the packaging! They last on my lips for such a long time without feeling super dry. Both Lolita & Lolita II are gorgeous shades and even though they have the same names, the shades are actually really different from one another.

Even though this set is sold-out on sephora.com, I still wanted to write about it since Lolita II is now part of her permanent line and both shades are actually in stock on Sephora. I purchased this lip set about a month ago and payed €19 (2 x 3 ml), which is a really good deal and I'm happy I got my hands on it! The full size Everlasting liquid lipsticks are available online here for $20.
