Essence Merry Berry

34

Hey loves! As you may have noticed, I changed the layout of my blog! This was something I had wanted to do for a while now and it’s finally here! Ahhh I’m so excited! It looks more girly and clean and I’m super happy with how it turned out. What do you guys think? Anyways, on to today’s review which is all about these 2 gorgeous products from the new holiday collection by Essence. It has been a hot minute since I posted about Essence. I used to write about their products all the time but I haven’t been overly excited about any of their new products until I stumbled upon their new holiday collection, ‘Merry Berry’. This collection has such a beautiful and festive packaging that immediately caught my attention. I decided to purchase 2 items from this collection, a nail polish and highlight and today I’m sharing my thoughts on these 2.

The nail polish comes in a pretty little jar that has gold details and looks so adorable. It looks as if it could be a high-end nail polish and it’s rather tiny which makes this the perfect stocking filler!

Pink & Perfect is a burgundy with purple undertones. This polish has a creamy texture and beautiful shiny finish. It is such a lovely shade that is just perfect for the holiday season.

This nail polish has a rather large applicator, which coats my nails in only 2-3 strokes. I prefer these kinds of applicators since it takes less time. The formula is very opaque and you could get away with only applying one layer. I just prefer to apply two. It took about half an hour to dry and it has been on my nails for 3 days now without chipping.

Keep in mind that the nail polish has more of a purple undertone than you can see here in the pictures. For some reason my camera made it look more reddish than it really is.

The highlighter powder from this collection is just absolutely beautiful, don't you think?? This highlighter from the Merry Berry collection is called 'I love my golden pumps' and it has this gorgeous pattern with all these stars in it, so joyful! I think it looks luxurious and super festive.

I Love My Pumps is pearly champagne shade that has subtle golden shimmer in it. It's not an overly warm or cool-toned highlight, it's the perfect in-between. This highlight is perfect for people with fair to medium skin-tones but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to those with darker skin-tones since it is very light.

This highlight adds a nice glowiness to the cheekbones without being over the top (unless you build it up). The texture is really soft and smooth and I'm really surprised by this highlight! Especially since it is a drugstore one.

As you can see, the swatch looks really good. This highlight has an amazing pigmentation and color pay-off. It also blends onto the skin like a dream and it stays there for about 6 hours.

I’m honestly really impressed with both of these products. The nail polish looks absolutely beautiful and the formula is pretty good. The highlight is one of the best ones I have tried from the drugstore so far. It has an amazing pigmentation and the powder is super soft. It’s also a really beautiful and universal shade.

The ‘Merry Berry’ holiday collection by Essence is now available at your local Kruidvat and online. The nail polishes retails for €1,99 (8 ml) and the highlight for €3,39 (9 g) . Both products are amazing and they’re perfect to get you into that festive mood! It is a limited edition collection and I have a feeling it will be sold-out in no time so definitely hurry up if you want to purchase something from this collection.
