The Essence 'Come To Town' trend edition has finally come to my town, which made me pretty excited. Ever since I saw pictures of this collection, I knew I had to get my hands on one of the little eyeshadow palettes, which luckily I did!
The 'Come To Town' trend edition comes with 2 different eyeshadow palettes: 'Make A Wish', in which the green are the stand-out colors and 'Naughty Or Nice', in which the cranberry is the main color. The packaging of these quattro eyeshadows is very simple and looks pretty much the same as their other quattro eyeshadows from their permanent line. The only thing that's different is that they put the name of the collection in a festive font on the front with a cute little mistletoe. I like the packaging, but I wish they would've used a bit more festive colors to decorate it.
Naughty Or Nice comes with 4 beautiful and festive shades: a silver, a gold, a pink and a cranberry shade. To me, this is the perfect combo to create a beautiful eyeshadow look that's very holidays appropriate. The combination isn't one I would've chosen myself, but I actually love it and believe it or not, it's a bit out of my comfort zone, being the neutral lover.
The shadows swatched beautifully, as you can see in the picture below. The colors are all very intense and metallic-looking. The texture is soft and buttery, not too powdery at all, which is what I love. I did have to build up the colors on the eyelids, but usually the case with Essence shadows. Despite that, I was able to create a nice look, using this palette on its own. One thing I do have to add is that in my opinion, after a while the colors start to look a bit the same, they blend together into one color. After a couple of hours of wear, all the work and effort you put into creating the look just disappears and it looks like you only used one color, if you know what I mean.
The 'Naughty Or Nice' quattro eyeshadow palette has nice pigmentation, yet you have to build up the colors on the lid. Also, after a while the colors blend into each other, looking as if you only used one color on your eyes. If you ask me, it's a good little palette, just nothing extraordinary. Essence 'Come To Town' trend edition is now available at Kruidvat, and you can get the quattro eyeshadows for €2,89 (5g).
