Catrice is definitely going with the matte-theme this season. They updated their assortment with matte eyeshadows, a matte eyeshadow palette and also, a matte eyeliner. I had never tried a matte liner before and thought this was the perfect opportunity to try one out.
The Multi Style matt eyeliner comes in a matte black pen. It has a spatula applicator which makes it easy to create thin and thick lines, depending on what you prefer.
When I first swatched this liner, I was really impressed with how black it looked and how it didn't come off easily, it's definitely long-lasting. But then I tried it on my eyes and it was a little disaster. The first eye went relatively fine, I had to go over it a couple of times, but it looked nice. Then I wanted to line my second eye, obviously. But it was as if there was no product left! It was completely dried out, I couldn't even line my second eye properly. I had to grab my other regular eyeliner by Stila to go over this one because it was just not showing up at all. It's not easy finding a good matte eyeliner from the drugstore, I guess we'll still have to wait a while! It sounded promising though, but to be honest, it sucked.
I don't know if there was something wrong with mine or if they're all dry as hell, but I would not recommend this eyeliner one bit. It's too dry, you can barely line one eye with it and it's just crappy. If you do want to form an opinion of your own, Catrice Multi Style Matt Eyeliner is available at Kruidvat for €3,59 (1ml).
