As I told you in my previous post, MAC came out with 2 new collections this past weekend. Sunday was the launch of the collection called Stroke of Midnight. This collection mostly consists of face palettes, eyeshadow palettes and eye sets. I think they did a great job on the packaging, again. It's very festive and perfect for the holidays with the chic gold and white design paired with a shiny black.
The lid closes magnetically and there's a mirror and little double-ended fluff brush (213) and small angle brush (266) inside.
There are 3 different varieties in these palettes, cool, warm of smokey. I got the cool palette which has 5 gorgeous shades in it: Fair Sex (light pink with a frosted finish), Deception (golden brown with a frost finish), Romance Me (warm plum with a lustre finish), Shadowy Lady (soft pastel pink with a matte finish) and Frisco (dark plum with a satin finish). You can find some of these colors in their permanent collection as well.
Some of the colors (Romance Me, Shadowy Lady) blended more easy then others but overall the colors work really well together. MAC eyeshadows never crease on me if I use a good primer and stay in place for about 8 hours. Overall, I think this is a great holiday palette, which is what I expected considering they retail for a smashing €43! The big downside, for me, is that this palette only contains 4g of product. That's typical for MAC eyeshadow palettes but I just think it's super expensive for only 4g of product. Not that I'm ever going to use it all up, but still.
The Stroke of Midnight collection is now available at MAC counters and should be for sale on their online shop very soon. This eyeshadow palette is available in 3 different varieties and costs €43 for 4g.
